This is one of a series of interviews completed by the Milton Historical Society (http://miltonhistoricalsociety.ca) as part of the production of the book "Milton Remembers WWII 1939-1945" and times thereafter. Several veterans of Milton and the surrounding community (as well as those new to Milton later in the project) were interviewed by MHS staff to document their experiences in Milton, their service to Canada (and the Allied Forces) in WWII and the impact that this had on their life. This is the interview of A. Sergeant Major Dick Clement of the Irish Regiment of Canada, 5th Canadian Division which served with great distinction in Italy and Holland. This is not the story of a Milton soldier who served on the fringes of WWII, but rather of the man that was in the âthick of the battleâ, serving almost 6 years with the Regiment. The interview was conducted by Ed Goodall on January 3, 1994.
